Q:  Who has been the most influential person in your career that has acted as a mentor to you?

A:  I have been very blessed to have had a few mentors that have helped and continue to help shape my career.  When I first hired in at Team Detroit, Brian Bos gave me the career guidance which helped me to truly understand the business.  In my current role, Phil Shih has been instrumental in guiding me in my career path.  His knowledge of the industry and his ability to teach, has been instrumental in my continued growth.

Q: What’s your favorite thing about digital marketing? About your current company?

A:  Digital marketing, whether obvious or nuanced, surrounds all aspects of our lives and I have always loved finding and exploring that relevancy in a day to day aspect.  Team Detroit encourages forward thought in examining what is next in terms of technologies, consumer behaviors, or overall societal trends and how can that be leveraged for our clients and consumers.

Q: What’s the most memorable moment of your career?

A: I have been very fortunate to have worked on several projects to which I am very proud to be a part of.  However, working with our clients to launch the Ford GT and partner with Microsoft and Forza 6 for the cover of the game stands out the most. I have also been lucky enough to be involved in Ford/TDI’s AdVerification Initiative, from conception.  Seeing this significant project come to fruition, is something I am proud to say I was involved in.

Q: What advice would you give to a young person in the business, or even a college student looking to get into it?

A: Never stop learning or trying to be better. This business moves at incredibly fast paces, and will only continue to do so exponentially. It is important to not become complacent in one’s skill set or knowledge, and never lose that drive to be better.

Q: What’s your favorite thing about 313 Digital?

A: The people that set aside their time to either teach, learn or coordinate so that others can collaborate is first and foremost. I have absolutely loved being able to participate in the 313 Digital Bootcamp as both a presenter and as a mentor this year.  It is an incredibly collaborative and educational program and those involved are 100% invested, and that has inspired me.
