January, 2018 NewsletterPosted on Jul. 18th 2018
Over the last few months, we’ve had quite a few changes and additions to our 313 Digital family. First and foremost, after many years leading our Bootcamp Cathy Curry (Marco’s Franchising) has made the tough decision to step down and have over the reins. Words cannot express how grateful we are, for all that Cathy has done in her tenure with 313 Digital! With that said please join me in welcoming, the below new faces:
Bootcamp Committee Lead
- Becca Mansfield (Spark Foundry)
Bootcamp Committee Member
- Don Murray (Viant)
Events Committee Leads
- Kelsey Lawni
- czak (Reprise)
- Eric Drieselman (TapAd)
- Justin Richards (Carbon Media)

October – we hosted our 2nd Annual JD Power Event at Hyde in Las Vegas. Once again Mike Riley (Nativo) single handedly put together another amazing event. Many thanks and gratitude to our main sponsor: Amobee (Raj Gill & team).
November – tradition continued with our 12th Annual Anniversary Party at SCL in Royal Oak. Once again, the Events team outdid themselves and another great night was had! Amazing job, Mike Riley (Nativo), Kelsey Lawniczak (Reprise), Eric Drieselman (TapAd), Justin Richards (Carbon Media) and Michelle Quicho-Duncan (Telaria). A huge thank you to our sober driver sponsor: CarGurus (Aubree Gill) for providing everyone with a safe way home.
This summer Mark Lacombe (Viral Gains), was instrumental in 313 Digital giving back and helping those in need. This summer we partnered with Crossroads Soup Kitchen, for the Summer Lunch Program. For ten weeks 313 Digital, and some great volunteers, helped to serve over 580 lunches to DPS students while they were on summer break. Thank you AdTheorent, Amazon, Autoweek, Discover, EyeView, Focus Media, GTB, Twitter and UM for volunteering your time and making this program a success!
This fall a portion of our proceeds from our 313 Digital Happy Hour and our 2nd Annual JD Power Event, were donated to relief efforts for those affected by the hurricanes and the shooting in Las Vegas.
This Holiday Season LeTeria Beck (GTB), helped 313 Digital partner with UNITY’s Adopt a Family Program. With some generous donations by our advertising community, and some help from 313 Digital, we were able to donate $1,000 that will help many families in need.
It’s been a great year for 313 Digital and we are beyond appreciative of all of the support we receive from the Detroit Advertising Community.
As always, I would like to remind everyone to: celebrate the diversity around us, help a fellow human in need, give thanks and be grateful. Above all, be kind to one another and let’s work together to make 2018 a year of positivity!

313 Digital started a new Community Engagement program this summer with Crossroads Soup Kitchen. Our members volunteered each Thursday from June 29th through August 31st. Those were the weeks when the DPS students were on summer break. For those local neighborhood kids who didn’t have lunches prepared for them at home, Crossroads and 313 Digital were there to serve.
Each week our volunteers made the Crossroads guests who came for lunch, feel as if they were in a kitchen where they were getting a homemade meal. 313 Digital Volunteers made all of the kids and their parents feel comfortable, made them laugh, made sure they ate their meals before they had their ice cream, and did it with a lot of love! Here’s how our weekly meals were served:
- Discover on June 29th served 40 meals
- Amazon on July 6th served 66 meals
- Autoweek on July 13th served 68 meals
- GTB on July 20th served 60 meals
- UM on July 27th served 62 meals
- Adtheorent on August 3rd served 58 meals
- Eyeview on August 10th served 54 meals
- Twitter on August 17th served 64 meals
- Focus Media on August 24th served 58 meals
- UM on August 31st served 57 meals
Some 313 Digital members and their companies gave gifts beyond volunteer hours on this program. Mary Honsel, Executive Director, and Nicole Watters, Associate Director, at Crossroads were so complimentary of our efforts, spirit, and generosity. They’ve asked if we can come back next year!
